Arising out of the ecosideration of these
Resolutions there was a discussion of the objections of the Guilds to the warding of Regulation o. 1 (which

the representatives of the Childs agreed in prinsiple that it was in general the duty of ships officers to defend their ship. In such cases, resistance "te the uttermost" would mean their certain death and was unreasonable, particularly in view of the absense of adequate provision for their dependents. The representatives of the Guilds agreed that their objection to this regulation would be met by the deletion of these words and the Official Members of the Conference agreed that they would-
